What is “Phishing? “
“Phishing” refers to a person or group of cyber-criminals who create an imitation or copy of an existing legitimate Web page to trick users into providing sensitive personal information. Responding to “phishing” emails puts your accounts at risk.
Personal Branch Security
In order to keep your online banking experience as secure as possible, we have a security feature called Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA provides a secret image and phrase that is personalized by you. In addition, MFA prevents fraudulent login attempts from a non-registered PC by challenging the user with email or security questions before allowing access to your online account.
Secret Image and Phrase
Whenever you log on to your Personal Branch account, the system will display the secret image and phrase you selected. When you see the image and phrase, you can feel confident that you are accessing our site and not an impostor site.
Computer Check
The system also checks the computer(s) that you are using to access your Personal Branch online banking account. Typically you will access your account from one or two computer, such as your work and home PCs. The system remembers your computer if it registered when you set up the security system. If you log on from a different computer that is not registered, the system will take additional steps to verify your identity, such as asking you to provide answers to your own personalized security questions.
If you have any questions about the security of your account please contact us.
